Modern Multi-Story Timber Projects - Map
We have conducted extensive research into both modern and historic multi-story timber construction. The map shows 30 modern multi-story timber projects from around the world. These projects are all 5 stories or higher and produced with massive wood, or wood hybrid systems. Further information on the construction systems used is available for each project along with their associated production teams.
A global renaissance of timber construction is occurring for a variety of reasons. The chief driving points are the advent of modern engineered wood products which allow architects and engineers to dream of new pragmatic approaches for modern design, while increasing design criteria. The second reason for the timber renaissance is due to the outstanding environmental benefits of construction with timber products. In a world where environmental degradation is becoming a top concern for humanity, timber construction represents a target solution to mitigate and even help reverse these effects. With these two primary driving forces coupled with decreased construction time and competitive cost structures we look forward to a bright future in modern timber construction.
